TNX Judith! However, last night’s combination of szechuan noodles with coconut cabbage wasn’t great. Separately they’re fine. The cabbage recipe is tasty and takes about 5 minutes to make, so maybe I’ll post that one for people always wondering what to do with cabbage! :)

Such a pity it wasn’t a success. Sometimes the tastes or textures just do’t go together. I never make cabbage myself, so I could use an inspiring recipe.

Your meals look delicious! Your post also reminded me that I haven’t even done any rhubarb this year – the weather’s been so dismal that I just never thought about this spring-ish food.
I do rhubarb in a crumble. Any sort of mixed berry is nice, but I remember one that had a citrus-y base to it, not as sweet as a lot of crumbles but very nice with cream or custard. I think it was a Jamie Oliver recipe so it shouldn’t be hard to find if you’re interested. Have a good weekend!

Thanks for the peek into your CSA box…I thought I knew just about every type of cabbage, but I have not seen the pointed variety before.
Does Ringo like to taste anything from the box, or just inspect the contents?

I always enjoying coming here to see what you have been cooking and eating. Most of it is stuff I’ve never heard of and I love that. It’s always good to learn new things.

Everything looks delicious. I love the soba noodles! Such a nice assortment you get from the CSA. I would love to be able to have a box like that each week, I need to look into it. I don’t know much about rhubarb but I did see somewhere a strawberry-rhubarb jam that looked lovely! Must have a nice sweet-tart flavor.

I’ve never heard of garlic flowers before. I was intrigued as to what to do with them. That looks like them next to the lentil loaf, is it? Are they just garnish there? Do you eat them? I would maybe have thought that you would use them like garlic chives.

Such lovely food ideas :) I am rather uninspired lately but I did make a different kind of sushi yesterday (will post about that next week for weekend cooking) that I never tried before and is very easy to make.

Fresh veggies are so beautiful!! You don’t even need flower arrangements! I’ve never had rhubarb…can you believe that??

Is it too late to make reservations for dinner?? Your menu plan sounds fabulous. I generally just make rhubarb sauce (cook it down with a bit of sugar and some spices) and we eat it like applesauce.
I can’t wait to see what I get in my CSA basket tomorrow.

Thank you all for the rhubarb suggestions. in the end we just cooked it up to eat like apple sauce (yay Beth! ;).
@TheBookGirl: Ringo doesn’t really take a bite but he DOES a great job inspecting the contents (each and every week) and somehow endive always has his special interest. He’s a cutie!
@Carol: we’re really happy with our CSA too — when the season ends we’re at a loss because we have to decide what to buy by ourselves. ;)
@Marg & BethF: my door is always open! :) Would be fun to have dinner together. :)
@Louise: there are several things you can do with garlic flowers, but we haven’t been very adventurous yet — we just baked them. They’re quite nice! I believe they’re more common in Chinese food?
@Uniflame: looking forward to your sushi recipe this weekend. :)
@Patti: I *can* believe that! Until we got it in our CSA I never bought it myself either. ;)
@ Bibliophilebythesea: it’s probably ‘not done’ to say I think Ringo is cute too?! ;)
